Day 9: Inspiration

Did you know the word inspire comes from the roots: in– to take in, and spire– spirit. Therefore, respire (to breath) is to re-spirit; expire is to release spirit, and conspire means with spirit. Other meanings of the word inspire, as defined by Free Dictionary, are: “To affect, guide, or arouse by divine influence;  to fill with enlivening or exalting emotion; to stimulate to action…to affect or touch…to draw forth…elicit or arouse; to be the cause or source of…to stimulate energies, ideals, or reverence…[and] to inhale.

It’s not a coincidence that to breathe, take in spirit, and evoke all share a word. When I think about the core of life, I think of air. This is why the power of meditation is so profound, and prescribed by various professionals for a range of ailments and conditions. When everything else in our lives is chaos, all we have to remember to do is BREATHE! To respire…inspire, expire…is to be alive. What a blessing and miracle it is to be so!

The other beautiful thing about breathing, (respiration, spirit), is that we share it with everything else on this planet. Without our expiration, the plants would be unable to survive; without plants, there would be no animals; and, the web goes on. This is where we must remember the importance of CONSPIRE- sharing breath, working together! We must do so from our hearts and with the best intention for all things we share the Earth (and spirit) with.

I believe that sharing inspiration is what gives our lives purpose and meaning. Having those things is what gives us health, wellness and genuine wealth. Today I was inspired by perspiring through my yoga class, phone calls and emails from people I cherish, a beautiful movie  called Samsara (I highly recommend it!), and the quote on my tea that said “inspiring others towards happiness brings you happiness.” HOW TRUE!

As I read your peice I thought of the song, “Just Breathe.” I also thought that life is breath and if, as you so beautifully put it, we share it with everyone and everything on this planet, then it behooves us to make every breath count as a blessing. I believe this is done by living life in a way that provides blessings to everyone and everything we touch.

As if the woods “out there” would be free of the impact of naeribolel speculation greed.I live in what once was called “the garden of France” and see how daily hedges ( it takes 40 years to re-establish an ecosystem in a bush” and trees gets destroyed for “bigger fields”, for “bigger engines” for “bigger profits”. IT HURTS TO BE “IN NATURE”, and seeing the factory behind the still “beautiful” landscape.Even some of the local animals disappear “out of the fields, into barns” for “local” products disconnected from real environment experience.Only those living there longer see the degrading evolution.Environment is EVERYWHERE and is connected.Bring the kids into the “lean offices” of their parents who by their lifestyles makes that happen.Let their senses make SENSE THERE TOO! Breath in DEEPLY the division between sound good noises of a “privileged education” and the reality “in&out” created by these reality splits.
